Es el primer lunes de mayo y las estrellas se han puesto sus mejores pintas para la noche más importante del año en el mundo de la moda: la Met Gala.
Celebrada en el Museo Metropolitano de Arte de Nueva York el 4 de mayo, el código de vestimenta de la Met Gala 2026 fue “La moda es arte”, un tema que dejó a los invitados con mucha libertad para interpretar. Este enfoque estuvo inspirado en la exposición de primavera del Instituto del Traje del museo, Costume Art (o Arte del Vestuario).
“Centrada principalmente en el arte occidental desde la prehistoria hasta la actualidad, la exposición Costume Art muestra las conexiones entre las prendas del Instituto del Traje y los objetos de otras áreas de la colección del museo”, reza la descripción de la exposición en la página web del Met. “Las combinaciones entre moda y obras de arte presentarán un amplio abanico de conexiones y experiencias: desde lo formal a lo conceptual, lo estético a lo político, lo individual a lo universal, lo ilustrativo a lo simbólico y lo lúdico a lo profundo”.
Por primera vez en 10 años, Beyoncé estuvo presente en la Met Gala, y esta vez como copresidenta. Junto a ella, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams y Anna Wintour también fueron copresidentas del evento, mientras que Jeff Bezos y Lauren Sánchez Bezos, patrocinadores principales de la gala y la exposición, fueron presidentes honorarios. Además, la Met Gala 2026 contó con un comité organizador en el que participaron Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, LISA, Sam Smith, Teyana Taylor, Yseult y más. Lauren Graham, Cara Delevingne, La La Anthony y Emma Chamberlain fueron las encargadas de conducir el evento desde la alfombra roja en representación de Vogue.
